Stoppiello secret garden

In the heart of Ilwaco is an old house owned by Anthony, an architect, and Victoria, a freelance writer. Their home and garden exemplify living with solar power, recycled materials, and edible landscaping. Garden beds are edged with found cement chunks, paving intermingles with broken crockery, vegetables mix with flowers, paths are mown through a small meadow-like lawn, and a solar panel rises from the berry patch. The photos you see here were taken by Victoria.

Victoria writes a biweekly column for the Chinook Observer. In this essay, she speaks to us of her garden.
